Harold Weinstein is Wescott’s Director of Organizational and Talent Development, and is responsible for organizational development, alignment and cross-functional effectiveness. Harold’s primary focus is creating positive, productive and satisfying experiences and outcomes for clients and employees alike. He operates with a leadership philosophy that centers on a core belief that the most successful organizations are those that are able to align, effectuate and maintain the shortest distance between their goals and values and the combined experiences of their stakeholders.
Harold is a member of Wescott’s Investment Committee, which is responsible for Wescott’s asset allocation models and investment strategies, as well as the Management, Marketing, Sales and Finance Committees. He also serves on the firm’s Portfolio Strategy Group, which oversees the ongoing due diligence and evaluation of Wescott’s investment managers and strategies.
Prior to joining Wescott, Harold was President of H Weinstein & Associates, LLC, an executive and organizational development consulting practice providing executive and strategic coaching to diverse senior level management teams. He has also implemented multi-national action learning programs that facilitate the development of executive leadership skills through a reflective process of solving important and timely business problems. Harold’s key clients have included Johnson & Johnson, MillerCoors, SABMiller, MetLife, ITOCHU, the United States Postal Service and other Fortune 500 and global and international businesses.
For the 21 years prior to running his own practice, Harold was affiliated with Caliper Human Strategies, an international human resources assessment and consulting firm headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey. During his tenure, he held a variety of senior leadership roles and functioned as the company’s lead consultant, researcher and product development strategist. For the 13 years prior to his retirement from the firm, he was Caliper’s COO and Chief Thought Leader and designed the company’s strategy as it grew from $5 million to $30 million in sales.
A recognized authority on the relationship between potential and performance, competency measurement and talent management systems, Harold has spoken at regional and international conferences on such subjects as “How to Hire the Best People”, “The Differences Between Leaders and Managers” and “Developing a Winning Team”. He has also written on human resources issues—including a book published by McGraw-Hill entitled How To Hire & Develop Your Next Top Performer. Harold has been frequently quoted by such publications as Fortune Magazine, Business Week, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
Harold received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hofstra University and his master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Mankato State College. He also holds a doctorate degree in counseling psychology from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists, the Society of Psychologists in Management and the Human Resource Planning Society.
Harold resides in Newtown, Pennsylvania with his wife, Karin Kasdin. They have three children.
