At Wescott, our team is focused on delivering advice that combines your financial assets and your financial mindset. Our team of experts – fiduciary financial advisors, CPAs, CFP®s, CFAs, J.D.s, and MBAs – is uniquely prepared to help you achieve your goals. Known for our Life-Minded Wealth® approach, we are proud to shine a spotlight on the people behind that approach and have them share a little about what drives them professionally and personally.
At Wescott, my title is Financial Advisor, but I view my role much more holistically. I help my clients plan for the future, make their lifestyle dreams a reality, and, at times, help them navigate their most difficult life transitions. In this role, I get to know my clients, their challenges, and their goals, and then I translate them into smart wealth management plans. Along with my team, I tailor each of these plans to best suit the needs of the individual client or family. From retirement to estate planning to trusts, business succession planning, and more, I help streamline my clients’ portfolios into plans that merge financial goals with psychological and emotional mindsets.
My path to Wescott was more unconventional than most professionals in the financial services industry. And that unique journey has helped me thrive as a CFP®. I started my career as a paralegal and became particularly passionate about estate planning. That led me to a role with a local family office. During the course of my career, I was introduced to professionals from Wescott and was immediately drawn to their Life-Minded Wealth® approach. After learning more about this innovative financial planning methodology, I knew that there was a place where I could blend my personal and professional experience and passion to help create thoughtful wealth management plans for clients.
My biggest professional goal is to simplify my clients’ lives. I want my clients to have the peace of mind that their financial futures and life goals are in the best hands possible. No matter what challenge they face, I want my clients to know that Wescott has the unparalleled expertise to help them navigate it successfully. Part of gaining client trust is a result of our commitment to being fiduciary financial advisors. Upholding the fiduciary standard means we always work in the client’s best interest, and we never earn commissions on investment products. It allows us to avoid conflicts of interest and proves to our clients that we have a duty to provide them the absolute best wealth management guidance.
What excites me most about the future of Wescott is the investments our team is making in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Wescott was recently named to Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best Places to Work and B Corp’s Best for the World lists for our efforts in creating a thriving workplace culture that prioritizes personal and professional growth and equal opportunity. By making efforts to continue to increase cultural, racial, and gender diversity at Wescott, we are doing our part to improve the wealth management industry and open the door for the next generation of financial planning professionals.
When I am not at work, I love spending time supporting my community. Two organizations I am particularly passionate about are Manna on Main Street and the Montgomery Theatre. Communities prosper when all citizens are safe and have access to meaningful learning and creative opportunities. Providing food security and opportunities to participate in and enjoy the arts are just two ways we can create stronger, more equitable communities.
What I am most proud of is my daughter Shelby. Since she was a child, she has had a passion for learning, adventure, and exploring the world. Today, she serves in the U.S. Air Force, and I continue to learn so much from her. The biggest lesson she’s taught me is that it’s experiences that matter most. Not only has this learning shaped my personal life, but it also defined my professional journey, too.
